The gardens around the Pittville Pump Room sit at the heart of Cheltenham's grandest Regency park, with the imposing colonnaded Pump Room as a backdrop. They flow into the wider Pittville Park, giving wide lawns, ornamental lakes, flower beds and tree-lined walks that are free to explore. It is an elegant, relaxed green space rather than a play-led attraction.
For families it offers room to run on the grass, ducks and water to watch, gentle walks and a pleasant setting for a picnic, with the play area and boating of the main Pittville Park close by. The Pump Room itself hosts events and festivals through the year, and the historic spa setting adds interest for grown-ups. It is best thought of as part of a broader Pittville visit.
It suits all ages as an easy, free couple of hours, with the youngest enjoying the open space and ducks. Combine it with the boating, play area and aviary in the neighbouring park for a fuller day.
